Well, if you've been keeping up with my blog then you know about our game situation at The Lift. We have not yet found a publisher for our book titled "Don't Soak the Shredded Wheat", but we're working on it. =)
This past Wednesday, I knew we were going to have a full house so I wanted to find a really cool game. I think I can safely say that I did!
We spread out a long tarp and I called up a couple of jr. high girls to come walk through "goldfish gauntlet". We had them take off their shoes and socks and right before we started blindfolding them, we let them see us beging laying out lots of live goldfish across this tarp. As soon as their blindfolds were on, one of the workers gathered the fish back up and quickly replaced them with lots of madarin oranges. The audience was cued with power point slides to make different noises and to clue them in as to what was happening. We told the girls that whoever made it to the other side of the long tarp the fastest would win, but for every goldfish they stepped on and killed they would get 10 seconds tacked on to their time because we didn't want to hurt the fish. We said go and the fun began! Oh, it was soooo priceless! They were so freaked out and one girl couldn't move more than 12 inches because she was convinced she was stepping on these poor fish. We were chunking the oranges at their feet to similate the fish jumping around. It was just awesome! When they were done and we removed their blindfolds the looks on their faces were unforgettable.
Did I mention that this was the best game EVER??? =)
